Annual PCC Patch Program
This project will patch various City streets as part of our annual pavement preservation program.

Roseland Drive Storm Sewer Improvements
This project starting in 2025 will include storm sewer installation, street reconstruction, and sidewalk replacement in the Karen Acres neighborhood. The construction will include Roseland Drive from Karen Acres Creek (south of Roseland Drive) to 72nd Street, and Palm Drive from Roseland Drive to 72nd Street.

142nd Street Paving, Oakwood Drive to Waterford Road
This project in 2026 will include reconstruction of 142nd Street as a four-lane roadway with left-turn lanes from Oakwood Drive to Waterford Road. The project will also include an HMA overlay for the half mile north of Waterford Road. This project will require 142nd Street to be closed to thru traffic.

65th Street and Meredith Drive Storm Sewer
This project starting in 2026 will include storm sewer installation, street reconstruction, and sidewalk replacement in the Plaza Gardens neighborhood. The construction will include Meredith Drive from the creek (east of 67th Street and north of Meredith Drive) to 65th Street, and 65th Street from Meredith Drive to Townsend Avenue.

Dennis Drive and 101st Street Patching
This project includes the patching along Dennis Drive, 101st Street and Douglas Frontage Road, east of 104th Street and west of 100th Street.

Douglas Urbanization
The Douglas Urbanization Projects are a series of improvements on Douglas Avenue from I-80/35 east to 75th Street. These projects include widening, adding curbs and storm sewer, adding curbed medians, and adding plantings, light columns, art, and other beautification items, in keeping with the master plan for the corridor.

Douglas Avenue Preservation, 111th Street to 121st Street
This project will include roadway repairs on Douglas Avenue from 111th Street to 121st Street, including pavement patching and an HMA overlay.

Meredith Drive Preservation, 86th Street to 104th Street
This project in 2025 will include roadway repairs on Meredith Drive from 86th Street to 104th Street, including pavement patching and an HMA overlay. This project will also install a trail along the north side of Meredith Drive in keeping with the City of Urbandale’s Complete Streets Master Plan. This project will require lane closures and several short-term full closures.

NW Urbandale Drive Preservation, Douglas Avenue to Meredith Drive
2026-007 NW Urbandale Drive Preservation - Project is located between Douglas Avenue and Meredith Drive and consists of PCC patching of the existing street with an HMA overlay.

Creek and Stream Drainage Improvements
The CIP provides for ongoing creek, channel, and bank stabilization projects in public parkland to improve the health of Urbandale's water ways and provide more resilient storm water management.

New Police Department Headquarters
The City is exploring the possibility of constructing a new headquarters for the Urbandale Police Department. This project aims to provide modern, efficient, and effective public safety services for our community, but it is currently in the early planning and due diligence stages.

WRA Joint Trunk Sewer
The Wastewater Reclamation Authority (WRA) is constructing a new sanitary sewer from the Walnut Creek Regional Park south along Walnut Creek into Clive. The project will affect neighborhoods, trails, and natural areas near the creek in Clive, and Urbandale. The WRA is leading this project.
