Board of Adjustment

Overview

The Board of Adjustment consists of five members who must be residents of Urbandale, of which no more than two members may be involved in real estate sales. Members are appointed by the Mayor, approved by the City Council and serve 5-year terms.

Areas of Focus

Reviews appeals of the Zoning Ordinance and the Sign Ordinance

• Appeals may be requested due to special exceptions in the Ordinance, differences in interpretation, or requirements that create a hardship on the property owner. 
• Reviews requests for uses that are conditionally permitted
