Overview
The Library Board of Trustees consists of seven members who must be residents of Urbandale. Members are appointed by the Mayor, approved by the City Council and serve 6-year terms.
Areas of Focus
- Directs and controls all affairs of the public library, including its content, fixtures and rooms
- Authorizes the Library Director to select and purchase reading and audio materials, fixtures and other supplies within approved budgetary limits
- Sets fines for the failure to return books and other materials checked out by patrons
- Preserved and protects the historical and education materials presented to the Library
