Overview
The Parks and Recreation Commission consists of seven members who must be residents of Urbandale. Members are appointed by the Mayor, approved by the City Council and serve 5-year terms.
Areas of Focus
- The commission develops and updates master plans related to parks and recreation facilities, open spaces, parks, playgrounds and other recreational activities
- Establishes the rules for the use of parks, recreational facilities and programs
- Oversees the use of parkland, off street bike trails, ball diamonds, tennis courts and playgrounds.
