Overview

The Planning and Zoning Commission consists of nine members who must be residents of Urbandale. Members are appointed by the Mayor, approved by the City Council and serve 5-year terms.

Areas of Focus

  • Reviews conformance with the City's Comprehensive Plan, which outlines the long-range development of the community
  • Reviews and recommends rezoning, site plans and preliminary and final plats
  • Reviews and recommends amendments to ordinances and regulations
  • Reviews and recommends on other issues as requested by the City Council
  • Reviews urban renewal plans for conformance to the Comprehensive Plan
